We do not collect any personal data. ChatMarkerAI operates entirely on your local device with no data transmission to external servers.
Data Storage
All data created by ChatMarkerAI is stored locally on your device using your browser's IndexedDB storage. This includes:
- Markers you create (text selections and annotations)
- Chat metadata (titles and identifiers from ChatGPT)
- Your organizational preferences (pending, used, archived status)
This data never leaves your browser. We have no access to it, and it is not synchronized to any cloud service.
Permissions
ChatMarkerAI requires the following browser permissions:
- Storage: To save your markers and preferences locally in IndexedDB
- Side Panel: To display the marker management interface
- Host permission for chatgpt.com: To detect text selections and display markers on ChatGPT pages
Third-Party Services
ChatMarkerAI does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.
Data Sharing
We do not share any data because we do not collect any data. Your markers and conversation content remain entirely on your device.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by:
- Using the extension's built-in delete and archive features
- Clearing your browser's site data for chatgpt.com
- Uninstalling the extension (this removes all stored data)
Children's Privacy
ChatMarkerAI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
